After dense fog moved into the area Friday morning, April 4, the National Weather Service warned motorists to be cautious while driving.
The widespread, thick fog is expected to reduce visibility to under a quarter of a mile in some areas, the weather service said.
Fog will dissipate as a cold front sweeps through the area early this afternoon. The weather service said there's also a chance conditions could rapidly improve late Friday morning.
The weather service's special weather statement applied to Elkhart, St. Joseph, LaGrange, Kosciusko and Noble counties, among others.
