Flood warning issued for Elkhart, Noble counties

The National Weather Service of Northern Indiana issued a flood warning for parts of Elkhart County.

NWS said recent snowmelt has caused minor flooding along the northern branch of the Elkhart River. The river is flooded near Cosperville, and the NWS said areas of Elkhart and Noble counties will be affected.

The flood stage was rising from six feet as of 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 19. The NWS said water will approach homes on Skinner Lake, especially near S.R. 8. 

The flood warning will be in effect until Thursday evening.
