Be careful of icy patches during today's snowfall, NWS says

Snow is falling as Elkhart County heads to work. But how long will it last and how much will we get?

Snow is joining Elkhart County on its morning commute today.

The National Weather Service predicts that Elkhart County could see up to 1.5 inches of snow accumulation in some areas by the end of the day. The snow is expected to last through the evening and temperatures will fall into the single digits.

As the snow falls on the roads, the NWS says drivers should be careful of icy patches, especially on bridges and overpasses.

The Indiana Department of Transportation tweeted this morning letting drivers know to be extra careful on their morning drive.
