Two former Penn High School rugby players have been selected to play for national teams this summer.

Tyler Sousley has been selected for the U.S. Junior Olympic Rugby Sevens Team, and Connor Marsh has been chosen for the USA Stars and Stripes Competition, according to Penn rugby coach Bart Bottorff.

Sousley was one of 12 players selected from 11 high school teams during the 2014 spring season. The U.S. team will train in China for four days before playing France, Fiji, Japan, Kenya and Argentina. The games will run Aug. 12-19 in Nanjing, China.

Marsh will be one of 40 high school seniors competing in the two-day Stars & Stripes camp in northern Colorado July 12-14. The athletes will compete in front of the USA National Team staff.

"Both of these guys were exceptional captains and key in our Penn team finishing third nationally this season,“ Bottorff said in a statement. ”They are not only great athletes, they are great kids and will represent USA well.“

Marsh will play college rugby for Indiana University. Sousley accepted a rugby scholarship to play for the University of Arizona.
