Four Jimtown High School students recently earned a spot at an international event.

The students are members of DECA, an international association of marketing students.

In March, Maggie Farwig, Madison Beadles, Alexis Syrette and Alyssa Dellinger went to the Indiana DECA State Career and Development Conference, where they qualified to advance to the international conference in May, according to their teacher Lots Pinnyei.

Beadles placed first in the Professional Selling Competitive Event, while Syrette and Dellinger placed second in the Entrepreneurship Written Event. They will be joined by Farwig who was elected District 2 president.

Also honored at the state conference were Morgan Kerrn, Jessica Dubois, Elizabeth Starr, Abygail Damerson and Natalie Nova, content-area academic excellence.

The 2014 International Career Development conference will be May 2-7 in Atlanta.
