Goshen High School music groups win festival awards

Eight music groups from Goshen High School were awarded at the Heritage Music Festival in Atlanta.

Goshen High School's music department recently took home awards at the Heritage Music Festival in Atlanta, Ga., according to a statement from the school.

Eight music groups traveled to the festival on March 21: the Advanced Crimson Choir, The Crimsonaires, the Advanced Crimson Chorale, the Crimson Men's Choir, the Wind Ensemble, the Advanced Crimson Jazz Band, the Camerata Chamber Strings and the Symphonic Orchestra.

The groups won the Festival Sweepstakes Award, Outstanding Band, Outstanding Orchestra, the Choral Sweepstakes Award, the Instrumental Sweepstakes Award, two Adjudicator awards for high scores recognizing the Jazz Band and the Wind Ensemble, and two Outstanding Soloist awards for students Tyler Salt and Quinn Brenneman in the Jazz Band.

The groups received six gold awards and two silver awards for their performances.
