GOSHEN — Mozart's comic opera "The Marriage of Figaro" comes to life with a modern twist at Goshen College this weekend.
The production — a collaboration between the college's music and theater departments — includes a cast of 11 students, a chorus of 16 students and an orchestra of 26 students, along with a GC production team.
The opera recounts a single "day of madness" in the palace of Count Almaviva, who persistently tries to win the favors of Susanna, the bride-to-be of the head of his servant staff, Figaro.
"The Marriage of Figaro" will be at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and April 4 and at 3 p.m. Sunday and April 6 in the Goshen College Umble Center.
The cost is $12 or $7 for students, seniors and Goshen College employees. Tickets may be purchased at www.goshen.edu/tickets, through the Welcome Center at 535-7566 or at the Umble Center box office one hour before the show.
