Ted & Company TheatreWorks debuted a new play written and performed by Ted Swartz titled "Learning to Play" Sunday night, Jan. 26, at Goshen College. The story centers around a father and his journey after learning that his son is gay.

"When we make it abstract, it's easy to make that person the other," Swartz said. The show isn't about making a strong point on one side or the other, but rather encouraging an open conversation, he said. The show features original Goshen College alumni Justin Yoder and Patrick Ressler.

A second showing starts at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 27 inside the Goshen College Church-Chapel at 1700 S. Main Street in Goshen. The hour-long play is free and open to the public.
