Goshen College student takes first place in Everence video contest

Jared Zook won the Everence Money Talks contest with his video “I Am a Penny”

GOSHEN – Jared Zook of Goshen recently took the top prize in the Everence Money Talks video contest.

Zook’s video “I Am a Penny” was chosen by thousands of voters online as the best submission. Zook, a Goshen College student, will receive a $1,000 cash prize. As part of the award, Zook’s project partner, Elizabeth Derstine, chose Foods Resource Bank of Chicago to receive a $1,000 grant. Derstine is also a Goshen College student.

The contest was developed to give young people an avenue to express their views about the role of money and to showcase creative talent, according to a press release.

Everence is a ministry of Mennonite Church USA that offers banking, insurance and financial services with community benefits and stewardship education.
