Elkhart Central's winter guard brings home the second place trophy

    Central's varsity guard finished second out of 43 competing guards at a divisional contest on Saturday, March 15.

    Elkhart Central's winter guard placed second at a divisional contest on Saturday, March 15, according to the school. 

    Central was up against 43 other guards in Class AA. The school's junior varsity guard also did well, placing 12th out of 40 guards at the in the Regional A class. Both Central groups got a Gold rating.

    Here's how other schools did:

    Elkhart Memorial: Gold

    Concord Community: Gold

    Fairfield Varsity: Gold

    Fairfield JV: Gold

    Penn Varsity 2: Silver

    Penn Cadet: Gold

    Penn JV: Gold

    Northridge: Gold

    Goshen: Gold

    Penn Varsity, in Class A, will be competing at the state level on Saturday, March 22. 

    Central and Penn color guards will perform for the community at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 26,  in the Central High School main gym and at 7 pm. at Penn High School on Friday, March 28. Admittance is $3 and the proceeds will benefit the program.
