EDWARDSBURG, Mich. — Calls from a fake IRS agent under the name Kevin Peterson have been made to high-income residents in Edwardsburg from the phone number 213-289-0373, according to a press release issued by Kenneth Wray, Ontwa Township-Edwardsburg police chief.

The caller has been reported to tell residents that they owe taxes and then solicits back payments, claiming to have warrant for the resident’s arrest.

Wray deemed the calls a scam, noting in the press release, “Be ever mindful of scams. The IRS does not make calls to your phone.”
