Concord's Rhoades resigns as head volleyball coach

Laurie Rhoades resigned from her position as head volleyball coach after being in the program for 14 years. She will stay in the school system as a teacher.

DUNLAP — Laurie Rhoades has announced her resignation as head volleyball coach at Concord High School.

She will remain as a health and physical education teacher at Concord Ox Bow Elementary School.

Rhoades served as head coach for six seasons, amassing a record of 133-71.

Prior to that Rhoades was an assistant coach in the volleyball program for eight years. She has also previously served as an assistant coach in both the CHS softball and girls basketball programs as well.

“We will miss Laurie as a member of the coaching staff,” Concord athletic director Dave Preheim in a release. “She devoted countless hours of her own time to her student athletes and has always been very loyal to Concord Community Schools. We appreciate her years of dedicated service and wish her nothing but the best.”
