Elkhart County’s ISTEP scores rise in 2014, still leave room for improvement

Once a year, Indiana students in grades three through eight take a test called the ISTEP+ (Indiana Statewide Testing for Educational Progress Plus)

This test is intended to measure how well students know the academic standards adopted by the state board of education. 

And even though standardized testing has been met with criticism by educators, schools are still striving to help more students pass the test each year.
