Five Edwardsburg seniors will graduate with perfect grade-point averages

The school board recognized the students at its regular meeting on Monday, May 19.

EDWARDSBURG, Mich. — Five valedictorians will be graduating from Edwardsburg High School this year with grade-point averages of 4.0.

“This is the most that I can remember,” said Superintendent Sherman Ostrander, who along with board members congratulated the seniors and presented them with certificates Monday night, May 19, during the monthly school board meeting.

The five valedictorians are Anne Makielski, Christopher Holston, Olivia Hartline, Elyse Clark and James Chapman.

Makielski plans to attend Emerson College and major in political science and communications.

Holston plans to attend Manchester University to pursue a degree in accounting and continue his soccer career.

Hartline will attend the University of Michigan and major in biochemistry.

Clark will attend Union College in Schenectady, N.Y.

Chapman plans to attend the University of Michigan to pursue a degree in electrical and aerospace engineering.
