Elkhart County schools are among the best in the state, according to 2014 rankings released by the U.S. News and World Report.

The organization analyzes data from each state's department of education and picks best schools in each state and best schools in the nation.

Local schools did well, not just this year, but for the past several years.

U.S. News and World Report representative Sophia Sherry sent The Elkhart Truth 2012 and 2013 school rankings, noting that the organization's methodology for naming the best high schools changed in 2012.
