Goshen High School's percussion concert group placed first out of 18 schools in the 2014 Winter Guard World Championships on Friday, April 11.

The concert group scored 94.800 points in the finals, which won it the world championship title. It also placed first at the state competition on March 22.

"A big thank you to the parents who came along and helped. Feeding this many kids is a challenge, and we could not be successful without their support. The Goshen Band Boosters are awesome," said Tom Cox, band director at Goshen High School.

Goshen's marching group placed seventh in a semifinal round Friday and finished in 14th place in the final round.

This is the second year Goshen has competed in the marching group category and the first year Goshen has marching and concert groups in the competition.
