NOTRE DAME – An event later this week will connect local science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) professionals with educators teaching the subjects to Michiana students.

The forum's theme this year is "Developing STEM Commercialization-Education Connections." The event's presentations will highlight regional partnerships between educators and professionals in the fields, and show attendees how to get involved.

The event's speakers will include Project Lead the Way Executive Director Vince Bertram, the St. Joseph County Chamber of Commerce's president and CEO Jeff Rea, Horizon Educational Alliance's Executive Director Brian Wiebe and OrthoWorx's Executive Director Brad Bishop.

This will serve as the seventh installment of the annual Collaborating for Education and Research Forum, which is sponsored by Notre Dame and The Northern Indiana Science, Mathematics and Engineering Collaborative.

Local K-12 STEM teachers and administrators can register for the free event online. The event will be held from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, March 1 at Notre Dame's Jordan Hall of Science.
