Who: Goshen Community Schools' board

When: The board met on Monday evening, Feb. 24.

  • Diane Woodworth, superintendent, updated the board about the corporation's major renovation project. A committee selected to consider where the new pool should go chose Goshen Middle School by a few votes. Now the design-build teams competing for the project will look at the cost of putting the pool in either the middle school or the high school.
  • Alan Metcalfe, principal of West Goshen Elementary, told the board that the school is still looking at doing uniforms, as reported earlier this school year. But after talking with parents, the uniform will probably be more of a standardized dress code, with kids wearing the same type of shirt but in different colors. That's partly to ease parents' concerns about the cost and availability of clothes.
