Six points to ponder about the Endless Winter

A few random thoughts about The Endless Winter:

■ The best aspect of all this snow is that almost all of it has been Light and fluffy.

■ Elkhart city’s snow removal on South Main Street (where diagonal parking is used) is almost always quick and impressive.

■ Leaders from the city of Elkhart and the county of Elkhart don’t seem to see eye-to-eye in coordinating winter weather travel advisories. Twice this winter, they had different outlooks at the same time.

■ I remain stunned that local motorists still choose to get on U.S. 20 when it has even a hint of snow cover.

■ I like the cumulative effect of all the snow. I like the scenery and the magnitude of the some of the piles. I like the fact my backyard is knee-deep in snow.

■ And while I know it has been a miserable eight or nine weeks for many, I’d also like to see one more big snowfall. Call it a final topping to celebrate the fact that many of us will hopefully never experience this amount of snow and cold ever again in a single season.
