Temperatures dipped below zero in Elkhart County Tuesday morning

Temperatures in the area were far below zero on Tuesday morning, Jan. 28. How cold did it get?

Posted on Jan. 28, 2014 at 12:23 p.m.

The accompanying chart lists some of the low temps recorded overnight and posted Tuesday by the National Weather Service.

While Elkhart is not listed on the chart provided by the weather service office of northern Indiana, local low temps overnight were seen as low as 17 below, which is similar to other nearby recordings, including North Webster, Ind., where the weather service office is located.

A wind chill warning remains in effect until noon Wednesday for much of Northern Indiana.

The weather service predicts Tuesday's overnight low will be 4 below. Wednesday's high will be 15.

Temps will continue to improve Thursday when the high is predicted to be 28. And with that warmer air comes another chance of snow Thursday and Friday.
