ELKHART — Long-time Elkhart County resident Teresa Cataldo announced that she will seek the Republican nomination for judge of Superior Court 3 during the 2014 primary elections.
The Superior Court 3 docket has criminal and civil cases. Its criminal cases include major drug felonies, criminal confinement and child-victim crimes.
Cataldo has been an Elkhart County resident since 1966. Cataldo is a graduate of Concord High School, Saint Mary's College and the Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
She has worked as a deputy prosecutor at the Elkhart County Prosecutor's Office, a Goshen City Court referee, an adjunct instructor at Harrison College and as judge pro-tempore. She also has run her own law firm, Cataldo Law Office.
Cataldo has served as member of the Goshen Bar Association and as volunteer judge for the Teen Court Program held at Bashor Children's Home.
She has also served as vice president of the board of directors for the Center for Community Justice and was a volunteer intake officer at the Elkhart City Adult Probation Department.
Friday, Feb. 7, was the deadline to file as a candidate for the primary elections.
