GOSHEN — Local leaders have signed a resolution to support Elkhart County using vote centers for elections.
The Elkhart County Board of Commissioners voted on the resolution Monday, Feb. 10, just two days after the Elkhart County Council approved a similar document. Both groups supported the vote center plan unanimously.
The Elkhart County Election Board will be the next group to vote on the plan. If the plan is approved unanimously, the election board will file it with the Indiana Election Division. If all goes to plan, county residents will use vote centers during the spring elections. Vote centers would allow people to vote at any designated polling location in the county rather than being tied to a particular precinct location.
