WARSAW — Republican challenger Curt Nisly has garnered the backing of a gun rights group in his bid for the District 22 seat in the Indiana House.
Gun Owners of America, or GOA, endorsed Nisly, and in doing so, also criticized his opponent, incumbent Rep. Rebecca Kubacki, also a Republican.
"The representative from (District 22) should have a constitutional view on firearms. The incumbent has a view hostile to the Second Amendment," GOA said in a statement issued by Nisly on Monday, April 1. "Hopefully Nisly, who filled out the GOA questionnaire perfectly, will be the voters' choice in the May 6 primary."
The District 22 seat covers southern Elkhart County, including Nappanee, and the northern half of Kosciusko County. Nisly lives just south of Goshen, and Kubacki lives in Syracuse.
