ELKHART — David Henke, a Republican member of the Elkhart City Council, is backing fellow GOPer Adam Bujalski in his bid for the District 48 seat in the Indiana House.

"Adam Bujalski’s military and banking experience will be very helpful in the statehouse, as well as Adam’s energy and fresh perspective in finding solutions,” Henke said in a statement Thursday, March 6. “A new generation of leaders must be found that offer intelligent ideas with new approaches, following the core values in representing District 48 and the surrounding area..."

Bujalski, vice chairman of the Elkhart County Republican Party, works as a bank manager and previously served in the U.S. Army. District 48 covers northwestern Elkhart County, including northern Elkhart, and overlaps with Henke's council district.

Rep. Tim Neese currently holds the District 48 seat, but isn't seeking re-election. Republicans Jesse Bohannon and Doug Miller are also running for the post.
