BRIDGEWATER, N.J. (AP) — A tour bus caught fire on a busy stretch of New Jersey highway, but no passengers were injured.

State Police Sgt. Brian Polite says the fire was reported at about 8:40 p.m. Saturday in Bridgewater. Passengers climbed off the bus and ran along the southbound lanes of Interstate 287 to escape the blaze.

Authorities still aren’t sure where the bus departed from or where it was headed. The passengers were transferred to another bus to continue their trip.

The cause of the blaze remained under investigation Sunday.

Police shut down all but one lane of traffic as the fire was extinguished and the remains of the bus were removed from the road. All lanes reopened later Saturday.

In the past week, numerous allegations of sexual abuse by Cosby from a number of women have led to canceled interviews and NBC and Netflix projects. “The Cosby Show” also was pulled off the air on TV Land.
