FREMONT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — The Saginaw County sheriff says a 53-year-old man was killed when his motorcycle struck a deer and he landed on his head.

Sheriff William Federspiel tells The Saginaw News (http://bit.ly/1oSLeUp ) that the accident happened about 12:05 a.m. Saturday in Fremont Township, about 15 miles southwest of Saginaw.

Federspiel says the deer ran in front of a motorcycle that Arthur W. Gath was riding. The sheriff says the impact threw the Merrill resident from the cycle, and he struck his head on the roadway.
