GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) — A former Kent County assistant prosecutor has been charged with criminal sexual conduct.

The Grand Rapids Press and WOOD-TV say that 61-year-old Mark R. VanderMolen was booked into the Kent County Jail on Tuesday. He’s charged with fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct and assault with intent to commit criminal sexual conduct.

The State Bar of Michigan lists him as a lawyer in private practice in Grand Rapids. The Associated Press left phone and email messages seeking comment from him or his attorney Tuesday night.

Details of the accusations against VanderMolen and the schedule of his court appearances weren’t immediately available.
