Woman, 70, found dead after fire in Menominee home

Menominee firefighters find woman, 70, dead after blaze in house; ID, cause not released

MENOMINEE, Mich. (AP) — Authorities in Menominee say that a 70-year-old woman was found dead after a fire at her home in the Upper Peninsula city.

WLUC-TV ( ) says Menominee authorities got a call about a house fire about 3:30 p.m. Saturday. They say emergency crews entered the home and found the woman inside.

Authorities say efforts to revive her failed and she was declared dead at the scene. Her name wasn’t immediately released.

The fire remains under investigation.
