ROYALTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — Authorities have released the names of a husband and wife found dead following a murder-suicide in southwestern Michigan.

The Herald-Palladium of St. Joseph and the South Bend Tribune of Indiana report that police say 56-year-old David Tripp fatally shot 41-year-old Delaina Tripp as she tried to run away near their home in Berrien County’s Royalton Township before killing himself.

Police responded early Monday following a report of a woman dead in a road and soon found the man’s body.

Police say Delaina Tripp also was hit, apparently by accident, by a vehicle that failed to stop. They’re seeking the driver of the vehicle.
