DETROIT (AP) — Utilities were working Thursday to restore power to remaining Michigan homes and businesses still without service following this week’s severe thunderstorms.

Storms moved through the state late Monday and early Tuesday, toppling trees and knocking out power to at least 247,000 customers. Debris damaged property and blocked streets in western Michigan, while heavy rains flooded roads.

DTE Energy Co. says power has been restored as of 9:30 p.m. to all 140,000 customers who lost service

CMS Energy Corp.‘s Consumers Energy unit says that the about 5,800 of its 70,000 affected customers still without power Thursday morning should have service restored soon.

Indiana Michigan Power says about 8,500 of its 37,000 affected Michigan customers were offline Thursday night.
