Indiana beats Youngstown St. 10-2 in NCAA tourney

Schwarber, Travis lead Indiana to 10-2 win over Youngstown State in NCAA tournament

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) — Kyle Schwarber and Sam Travis both homered to lead Indiana to a 10-2 win over Youngstown State in the Bloomington regional Friday night.

The Hoosiers (43-13) will play Stanford on Saturday, while the Penguins (16-37) play Indiana State in an elimination game.

Schwarber had four hits, falling a double short of the cycle, while driving in three runs with his fifth-inning homer. He also scored three times. Travis drove in two runs with his third-inning homer and scored twice.

Dustin DeMuth added three hits, a run scored and three RBIs, and Scott Donley had a triple among his three hits and two runs scored.

Scott Effross allowed one run and three hits in four innings for the win in his first collegiate start.
