A man has been charged with furnishing alcohol to a minor in connection to the death of an 18-year-old man, according to our reporting partner WNDU.

Matthew Eddy, 24, was arrested following an investigation into the Aug. 10 death of Andrew Jerome Tarquino, 18.

Tarquino was found dead outside a New Carlisle home in the 5100 block of Timothy Road, where he attended a party the previous night.

An autopsy found that Tarquino’s blood alcohol level was .40 and that he died of acute ethanol intoxication, WNDU reported.

Eddy reportedly told police that a group of underage teens asked him to buy alcohol for them, and he obliged.

Furnishing alcohol to a minor is a Level 6 felony in Indiana. Bond for Eddy was set at $10,000 corporate surety or $1,000 cash, WNDU reported.

The investigation is still ongoing.
