Man hit, killed by car on Cassopolis Street identified

A 66-year-old New Jersey man died Monday night after getting hit by a car on Casspolis Street. A 60-year-old New Jersey woman was also injured.

Police have identified the victims of a fatal crash on Cassopolis Street Monday night.

Darryl Foyuth, 66, and Maryann Foyuth, 60, both of Lawrenceville, N.J., were hit by a car at about 9:30 p.m. near the 2900 block of Cassopolis Street, said Elkhart Police Assistant Chief Laura Koch.

Darryl Foyuth was pronounced dead at Memorial Hospital in South Bend. Maryann Foyuth was taken to Elkhart General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police do not believe alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash, according to an Elkhart Police Department news release.

The driver was identified as Valerie Neal, 57, of Elkhart. 

The investigation continues. As of Tuesday afternoon, no one was cited or arrested in connection to the incident.
