ELKHART — One person was taken to Elkhart General Hospital after a report of shots fired at the 900 block of West Indiana Avenue, according to the Elkhart 911 Call Center.
The person was not taken to EGH by an ambulance and none were called to the scene, according to Elkhart Police assistant chief Laura Koch. As of 7:45 p.m., police were still at West Indiana Avenue.
The exact location of the incident has not yet been determined, she said.
Elkhart Police and city dispatchers said a news release will be sent out to provide more information but did not specify when that would be.
