SOUTH BEND — South Bend firefighters are investigating an early-morning house fire.

Firefighters were called to the 700 block of Lincolnway East around 1:45 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, and found flames shooting from the roof of the building, according to a report from The Elkhart Truth’s news partner WNDU.

It took about 45 minutes for firefighters to get the flames under control.

Firefighters told WNDU the multi-unit building is right next to a house that caught fire several days ago, but they do not know if the two fires are related.

Investigators are still working to determine the cause of Tuesday’s fire.
