ELKHART — Two westbound lanes were closed on the Indiana Toll Road following an accident involving two semi trucks and a handful of vehicles at westbound mile marker 99.3 near bristol, according to Indiana State Police.

The lanes were reopened Wednesday night, but drivers still may see some delays in the area on Thursday as crews continue cleaning up, Indiana State Police spokesman Sgt. Trent Smith said in a press release.

One of the semis was on fire following the crash. Osolo Emergency Medical Services checked a 30-year-old man who incurred a headache, Elkhart County Dispatchers said. One victim was extricated and evacuated from the scene via MedFlight, though Elkhart County Dispatchers were unable to confirm what hospital the victim was flown to.

Indiana State Police responded to the call at 3:52 p.m.

One fire department also responded, though Indiana State Police were not able to confirm which town the unit was from.
