Kosciusko County woman undergoing evaluation after stabbing mother in chest

A Kosciusko County woman was taken to the hospital for evaluation after she allegedly stabbed her mother in the chest Sunday afternoon.

A Kosciusko County woman was taken to the hospital for evaluation after she allegedly stabbed her mother in the chest Sunday afternoon.

Police were called to a home in the 4400 block of North Sullivan Road in Leesburg around 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 10, for a report of a stabbing, according to news release from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department.

Officers found 60-year-old Ada F. Dill suffering from a puncture wound to the chest. Dill was transported to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, where she was in serious condition, according to police.

Police also found Dill’s daughter, 28-year-old Stephanie Nelson, at the scene.

Their initial investigation found that Nelson had been talking with Dill in the kitchen when she suddenly brandished a knife and stabbed her once in the chest, according to the news release.

Nelson was taken to the Kosciusko Community Hospital for evaluation.

The incident is still under investigation by the sheriff’s department and will be forwarded to the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
