St. Joseph County Metro Homicide is investigating the death of an 18-year-old man in New Carlisle.

St. Joseph County Police were called to the 51000 block of Timothy Road around 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 10, after the man was found unresponsive outside a home, according to a report from WSBT.

Emergency responders could not revive him and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Metro Homicide was called in to investigate because of the circumstances surrounding the incident, police told WSBT.

Detectives interviewed several juveniles and one adult who had attended a party on Saturday night at the residence where he was found, Metro Homicide Lt. Dave Wells said in a statement.

The man’s identity is being withheld until his family can be notified.  An autopsy will be scheduled with the St. Joseph County Coroner’s Office as soon as possible.

This story is developing and will be updated as more information becomes available.
