Crime Stoppers seeks information on 2011 murder of Jessica Starr

ELKHART — Michiana Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help solving the murder of Jessica Starr, which occurred outside her Elkhart home.

Starr, 26, was killed on Aug. 8, 2011, at her home on 28765 Melody Lane, according to past reporting by The Elkhart Truth.

She pulled into her driveway around 11:30 p.m. and was retrieving groceries from the back seat when she was attacked, Starr’s family said.

According to Crime Stoppers, a struggle occurred in her car and someone inside the home called 911 when they heard screaming.

When police arrived, they found Starr in the backyard and pronounced her dead at the scene. It was later determined that Starr had been beaten and stabbed, according to Crime Stoppers.

Now, Starr’s family and Elkhart County homicide investigators are seeking information about the killer.

Tipsters could receive a cash reward of up to $1,000 if their information leads to an arrest.
