A North Webster man was arrested last week after threatening his wife’s alleged lover with a sword.

Mark E. Bowser, 56, was arrested on a charge of intimidation, a level 5 felony, on Aug. 1, according to a report from Stacy Page Online.

The victim told police Bowser had followed him to a home in the 9300 block of East Koher Road South. The victim was sitting in a convertible in the driveway when Bowser approached him and placed a sword against his throat and threatened to kill him. The victim was able to push the sword away by the hilt and called 911.

A North Webster police officer found Bowser’s vehicle and saw the sword in it at 221 S. Main St. in North Webster, Stacy Page Online reports.

A Kosciusko County Sheriff’s deputy arrived and spoke to Bowser, who said he had exchanged “choice words” with the victim, who he said was having an affair with his wife, and had shown him the sword to scare him because the victim had been smirking and making obscene gestures to him.

Bowser was arrested and booked at the Kosciusko County Jail on $4,000 bond, according to Stacy Page Online.
