A Warsaw man was arrested Tuesday morning in connection to breaking into a funeral home and attempting to steal DVDs of children’s movies.

Employees at Katie’s Kwik Mart in Leesburg contacted police at 6:44 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, to report a man driving a yellow motorcycle acting suspiciously at the store, according to a report from Stacey Page Online.

Milford Police found the motorcycle parked behind Mishler Funeral Home at 461 W. 900 N, near a door that had a broken window, Stacy Page Online reports.

The man, identified as 19-year-old Austin James Grindle, came out through the broken window and was arrested by Milford police and Kosciusko County Sheriff’s deputies on a preliminary charge of burlgary of a business with intent.

When management from the funeral home allowed police inside the building, they found that Grindle had been trying to steal DVDs of children’s movies.

Kosciusko County officers obtained a warrant to draw Grindle’s blood for drug and alcohol testing because he was behaving erratically. The results of the tests are still pending.

He has been booked at the Kosciusko County Jail.
