A Warsaw man was arrested early Tuesday morning after a meth lab exploded in Kosciusko County.

William Daniel Kent, Jr., 53, was arrested on preliminary charge of possession of precursors with the intent to manufacture a controlled substance/methamphetamine, a class III felony.

Officers from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department responded to 5571 South Lake Shore Dr. W., near Sellers Lake, around 1 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, for a report of a loud explosion, according to a department news release.

Police saw several items used to manufacture methamphetamine. They called the Kosciusko County Drug Task Force and Indiana State Police Methamphetamine Lab Team.

Drug Task Force officers obtained a search warrant for the property and found two one-pot methamphetamine labs and an area that appeared to have been scorched by an explosion, according to the news release.

Kent, the homeowner, was taken to the Kosciusko County Jail.
