Incident reports in the city of Elkhart, July 31

    The incidents, which have been recorded through July 31, include a report of shots fired and theft from a vehicle.

    THURSDAY, JULY 31, 2014

    A 36-year-old reported battery with bodily injury from hands, fists and feet in the 500 block of Middlebury Street. 

    A 48-year-old woman reported a hit-and-run with property damage near 175 C.R. 6 West.

    A 29-year-old man reported a theft from a vehicle at 1803 Fieldhouse Ave. 

    A 22-year-old victim reported battery in the area of Jackson Boulevard and Prairie Street.

    A 27-year-old reported battery in the presence of a child less than 16 years of age in the area of the 2300 block of W. Lexington Avenue. 

    A 62-year-old man reported criminal recklessness with a firearm at the intersection of Capitol Boulevard and Morton Avenue. Police said they found bullet casings at the scene, but there were no reports of injury or property damage.

    A report was taken in the area of 1200 Columbian Avenue for a suspicious vehicle in an alleyway.
