Woman sent to hospital after crash on C.R. 17 and C.R. 6

The two-vehicle collision happened early Thursday morning, July 31.

A woman was sent to the hospital early Thursday morning, July 31, after she failed to yield the right of way and crashed into another vehicle, according to a news release from the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department.

Elena Guerrero of Goshen was traveling north on C.R. 17 around 3:30 a.m. when she attempted to turn left onto C.R. 6. and turned into the path of Thomas Fox of Vandalia, Mich., according to the release.

Guerrero’s car collided with Fox’s truck, causing extensive damage to both vehicles. Guerrero was sent to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment of chest and arm pain. She was cited for failing to yield the right of way.

Fox was not injured and did not receive a citation.
