Chicago man electrocuted while doing electrical work at a Cass County home

A Chicago man was electrocuted Sunday afternoon while doing electrical work on a Penn Township home.

A Chicago man was killed in Cass County Sunday afternoon while doing electrical work on a Penn Township home.

Emergency crews were called by the man’s family to the home on Diamond Island at 3:05 p.m. Sunday, July 27, according to a news release from the Cass County Sheriff’s Department.

Michael Koranda, 43, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators determined Koranda was doing electrical work on the home and was accidentally electrocuted.
