Investigators have determined that a March car fire in a Goshen parking lot was an attempted suicide.
William J. Tully was airlifted to St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne on March 19 after Goshen firefighters pulled him from his burning vehicle in the Linway Plaza parking lot.
An investigation by the Goshen Police Department determined that Tully had set the fire in an attempt to end his life, according to a police news release.
Police have concluded their investigation and do not believe anyone else was involved in the incident, the news release stated.
Tully has been released from the hospital but is still under the care of a physician, police said.
