Police ask for assistance in New Paris robbery investigation

Police say a man carrying a gun entered the Red D Mart Saturday morning, July 19, demanding money.

NEW PARIS — The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department is asking the community for help with information related to an armed robbery at a New Paris store.

Police were called at about 9:13 a.m. Saturday, July 19, to Red D Mart at 68310 S.R. 15 for reports of a robbery, according to a news release from the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department. 

Victims described the suspect as a man in his 20s, 5 feet, 8 inches tall, with a stocky build and short strawberry blonde hair. The man entered the store with a gun and demanded money before fleeing from the store on foot.
