Police are asking for the public’s help in locating two men accused of stealing thousands of dollars from an elderly couple in Noble County.

On Wednesday, July 9, two white males in the Cromwell area approached the couple and offered to spray blacktop sealer on their gravel driveway, according to a news release.

The men told the couple the job would cost about $200, then asked for $2,000 once the work was done. After the couple paid the amount in cash, one of the men went into their house and allegedly stole more money, the release said.

The older suspect was described as heavy set with skin tags on his eyelids. The second suspect was described as being between 18 and 20 years old, the news release said.

The duo apparently drove a red Ford pickup truck with a black tank in the bed.

Anyone with information about the men are encouraged to call the Indiana State Police at either 260-432-8661 or 800-552-0976, or the Noble County Sheriff Department at 260-636-2182.
