Elkhart police seek help in identifying wallet thief

    Police have photographs of a suspect believed to have made three purchases with a credit card stolen June 18.

    ELKHART — Elkhart police are asking for assistance in finding a man who allegedly stole and used a woman’s credit card in Elkhart.

    According to the Elkhart Police Department, a wallet was stolen out of a vehicle parked at 1238 N. Nappanee St. on June 18. The victim called her credit institutions to cancel the credit cards in her wallet and learned that one of her cards had already been used three times.

    Police believe the suspect may use a bicycle as his mode of transportation.

    Police acquired photos of a suspect appearing to enter and leave a Walgreens. Those with information are encouraged to contact Detective Scott Hauser at 389-4719.
