One dead in overnight South Bend shooting on the city's west side

Police were called to Olive Street and Linden Avenue around 12 a.m. Sunday.

One person was killed in an overnight shooting in South Bend.

South Bend police were called to  the intersection of Olive Street and Linden Avenue around 12 a.m. Sunday, July 6, according to a report from the Elkhart Truth’s news partner, WNDU.

Witnesses told WNDU that an argument broke out inside the Percy's Heating and Cooling Appliance Repair building and a man was shot in the stomach.

St. Joseph County Metro Homicide confirmed that the victim died from his injuries and they have a suspect in custody.

The names of the victim and the suspect had not been released as of late Sunday morning.
